Wake Forest, NC — The Joel Fund is thrilled to announce its Operation ART Spring Student Showcase, featuring a gallery of artwork created by military-connected students participating in the Operation ART program. Artwork will include various media: photography, embroidered hand-dyed fabric, woodcarving, creative writing, pottery, and more. New this year, the showcase has been expanded to 6 days, from May 13 to May 18, and will be hosted at Broadsides and Brews (223 S. White St., Wake Forest, NC).
This year’s showcase offers a special opportunity to celebrate the Operation ART community through exciting partnerships with local organizations. Broadsides and Brews is an entertaining piano lounge with an assortment of beer, wine, specialty cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. Adding to the festivities, award-winning rum distillery, Outer Banks Distilling, will be featured with a rum tasting event.
This showcase is a testament to the creativity and resilience of our military-connected students and a wonderful opportunity to support their artistic endeavors. Throughout the week, attendees are invited to immerse themselves in the students’ creativity and participate in a variety of engaging activities, including a live reading, a performance opportunity during Broadsides’ Center Stage event, a collaborative art project open to all, and a raffle featuring unique items from The Joel Fund and Outer Banks Distilling.

- Wednesday, May 14, 6 – 9 pm: Rum Tasting with Outer Banks Distilling
- Friday, May 16, 7 – 11 pm: Operation ART performs during Broadsides’ Center Stage Event
- Sunday, May 18, 2 – 4 pm: Student reception with live reading and raffle winner announcement.
