Military-connected women, join us for this class to learn how to weave a landscape tapestry using a circle loom!  These looms are a one-time use because they make a beautiful frame for your tapestry.  This workshop will teach you to warp a circle loom using a non-circular set-up to weave an image of a landscape featuring a waterfall that will fall from the frame. Students will learn to design “outside the frame" along with how to warp a simple tapestry frame loom then weave using a variety of stitches and yarns to create texture and visual interest. Once your masterpiece is finished, the tapestry will be ready to hang on the wall for all to admire your mastery of weaving! All materials will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE:

Operation ART classes are open to veterans of all military branches, immediate family members of veterans, veteran caregivers, active-duty servicemembers, reservists, and National Guard service members. This specific class is for military-connected women only.

Each student will be given the opportunity and assistance in drafting sketches, concept drawings, and research notes to create a final project that will be shared with the class at the end of the course. In all, we will be evolving our skills from previous classes to create pieces that present the amalgamation of research, exploration, and fun!

This class is for students who have taken a previous TJF virtual painting class or have permission from the instructor.  If you have not taken Virtual Painting 1 & 2, please contact Operation ART Program Manager Isabella Brezenski at isabella@thejoelfund.org
