Different genres make up 99% of popular stories today! This fun class (for all levels of writers including those just starting their creative journey) will explore what makes genres (mysteries, thrillers, horror, young adult, romance, historical narratives, and adventure stories to name a few) attract huge readership! We’ll examine the elements that define each genre as well as experiment with specific genre forms to help you develop a stronger sense of your voice as a writer. Offering a safe, supportive online group environment, the class welcomes veterans, current active duty, and reserve members of the armed forces as well as veteran caregivers and immediate adult military family members. Recommended class reading: Anatomy of Genres by John Truby.
