RUSTIC AMERICAN FLAG
Donated by Rob Lockwood and Jason Blank, Co-Founders of a SDVOSB (service-disabled-person-veteran-owned-small-business) IT integration company, Power Edge.
The company donates 1% of gross profit to Veteran charities. While serving, Rob went down in a chopper in Somalia. He survived but others weren’t as lucky. He lost the use of his shoulder for most of his 20’s but he had reconstructive surgery and is now healthy and strong. Jason has a BFA from the University of Buffalo and has worked extensively with the VA throughout the East Coast including the Durham location.
The flag is constructed out of a single plank of wood. It is cut into 17 strips 13 stripes and 4 support brackets. All four edges of each piece are burned. Three sides are stained using the best stains available. The pieces are not glued they are braced by hand and shot with a nail Brad gun. Everything is done by hand which makes it more authentic. The stars are all carved by hand. The finish is a resin used on boats and is also the best you can buy.

WINE & DINE AT HOME
2011 Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon signed by winemaker Daniel Barron
valued at $150
The 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an elegant representation of Napa Valley Cabernet from a cool vintage. It presents an opaque garnet hue in the glass and reveals aromas of sandalwood and roasted meats. Flavors of vanilla, coffee beans and raspberries are buttressed by dusty tannins, firm acidity and a mouth-coating texture. Given proper cellaring, this wine should provide drinking pleasure through 2029.
“It takes just as long to produce a bottle of Cabernet today as it did in 1972. And that’s just fine with Silver Oak because what matters most is timelessness.”
Blend:: 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.5% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot, 0.5% Malbec 13.8% ABV
2018 Alpha Omega Oakville Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
valued at $150
Dubbed a “Winemaker’s Dream Vintage” This gift from Mother Nature translated to wines that not only have great concentration but also an amazing freshness. The Cabernet Sauvignon shows amazing blackfruit jam with dark chocolate, balanced with pepper and hints of violet. The color is deep, dark red with touches of black cherry and raspberry red on the rim. On the nose, the wine reveals big black fruit jam.
Blend: 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot 14.7% ABV
NV DelDotto Port
valued at $60
At first glance, notice the wonderful “tawny” color, a blend of brick red, deep orange and vibrant garnet colors. This warm expression presents in the aromas filled with nutty notes of hazelnut, toasted almonds, and chestnuts. The very ripe and rich essences of currant and blueberry extract are complemented by notes of fresh cedar and leather. The elegance of this wine really shows through on the palate where the silky sweet expression of Napa Valley fruit integrates perfectly with the warmth and richness provided by the brandy fortification. Truly seamless from entry to finish.
