Drawing and Painting
Diana Johnson is a retired graphic designer. She moved to the Wake Forest area eight years ago from Florida. Diana moved for the change of seasons and the proximity to the mountains and the coast, which give her inspiration for her art. Her favorite medium is graphite pencil, but her other mediums are colored pencil, ink and watercolor. Her favorite subjects are animals and nature, especially trees. Most of her drawings of trees are a combination of the natural flow of nature and the influence Zen tangle. “I love color in nature, but sometimes it gets in the way of the inspiration or interrupts what I am trying to infuse in my art. So pen, ink, or graphite pencils are a wonderful way to show textures, movement and feelings.” Diana lives with her husband and cherished beagle. She has a grown daughter who also lives in the area.
