Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can occur after someone goes through a traumatic event like combat, assault, or disaster. Most people have some stress reactions after a trauma. If the reactions don’t go away over time or disrupt your life, you may have PTSD.

The Joel Fund began because of the founder’s personal experience of living and dealing with a family with PTSD. This affliction can change the lives of entire families. Our goal is stop the number of suicides that result from PTSD.  There are many programs and people to help, but finding the right fit can be hard.  The Joel Fund uses art as a form of treatment and coping.  Please tell all your Veterans about available programs and continue you to thank them for their service.
